Welcome

Welcome to Technical Editor--a freeforums.org forum site.

One function of this forum is for the general public to accumulate and disseminate information about various aspects of technical editing (or authoring). A site administrator--Detroit--also uses the forum to park various notes and such for easy retrieval afterwards, in case a future need arises for any of them.

This forum site is also available for OOoAuthors members--if they choose--to park or make comments about anything concerning documentation for the OpenOffice.org (OOo) software suite without having to use the email messaging system, which otherwise broadcasts via email their posts to the entire OOoAuthors community.

Feel free to contribute in any of the forum categories. If you desire to create a new forum than those already listed, email the forum administrator for creating a new forum category or forum. Creating a forum thread requires no special authorization other than simply registering--just do it under the appropriate forum...

OOoAuthors creates and maintains user guides and other documentation for the OpenOffice software suite.

Any others may also post on topics about anything even remotely involving editing for the print or web-based media.

A companion forum site--Editor.freeforums.org--is under development for the more general aspects of editing for the print or electronic media.

BTW, the boilerplate donation notice below is made by the forum host--FreeForums.org--in their desire to help "pay the freight" for serving their free forums.
